WHAT IS IT ABOUT?: Magnificent biography of T. E. Lawrence, a English military "observer" who aids the Bedouins battle the Turks during WWII. Lawrence, brilliantly played by O'Toole is "a hero consumed more by a need to reject British tradition than to save the Arab population."
BEST LINE:
WHAT DO I THINK: Great story telling, supported by a great cast. Stunning cinematography. The train explosion sequence is one of the bests. Magnificent shots of the desert filling the screen, and the people interacting in the never ending dunes. Best seen in wide-screen version.
- Black listed co-writer Wilson had his screen credit restored by the Writers Guild of America in 1995.
